We specialise in coagulation therapy
Coagulation treatment for couperose, skin tags, age spots, spider naevi and blood blisters. This skin-improving treatment helps reduce visible veins and small skin imperfections for an even, calm complexion. Ideal if you want bothersome spots treated safely and precisely. Coagulation is a safe form of skin therapy that clears skin imperfections without scarring.
Coagulation therapy
Coagu… what? Exactly: coagulation. During coagulation therapy, the skin is heated at the spot where imperfections are present. This creates a small scab that, over time (on average seven days), falls off the skin and is replaced by fresh, smooth new skin. Coagulation therapy is suitable for small skin areas and is the alternative to a surgical procedure.
We can treat the following skin concerns with coagulation therapy:
- Couperose (red veins)
- Spider naevi (spider naevus)
- Skin tags (fibromas)
- Blood blisters
- Age spots
What is coagulation?
With coagulation, we use an ultra-fine needle. It pricks superficially into the skin, after which electricity is passed through the needle. The electricity is converted into heat. This causes the imperfection to shrivel up. A small scab forms on the skin, which falls off after about a week.
When you come to us for coagulation, we first schedule an intake with you. Using the Observ 520, we take a close look at your skin and map your skin concern precisely. During the intake we also map out the expected result. Before we begin coagulation therapy, the area to be treated is thoroughly disinfected. The coagulation treatment then follows. We prick the skin with a small needle, which you may feel as a light pinprick. Depending on the size of the area to be treated, the treatment takes just a few minutes. Afterwards we disinfect the skin again and apply a protective cream.
You'll see results after just one treatment. In some cases it's necessary to repeat the coagulation therapy. We'll be happy to advise you on this.
Is coagulation treatment safe
Absolutely. Because we work with a very fine needle, we can work with great precision. The heat applied to your skin is safe and helps clear your skin imperfection quickly and effectively. Of course, coagulation therapy at CHRIS is carried out by a specially trained coagulation therapist. This assures you of a professional and safe procedure.
Aftercare coagulation therapy
After the coagulation treatment, the skin is vulnerable and may be sensitive. That's why it's important to be very careful during the first 48 hours after coagulation therapy.
- Avoid extreme heat (sauna, hot showers).
- Don't use a sunbed and avoid the sun as much as possible. During the day, apply a sun product with at least SPF 30.
- Be moderate with alcohol and smoking.
- Don't wear make-up until the scabs have fallen off the skin.
- Keep the wounds as dry as possible for at least five days after the treatment.
Coagulation therapy is not suitable for you if:
- You have (many) moles in the area to be treated.
- You have cancer or tumours.
- You have a fever.
- You are pregnant
- You have high blood sugar, diabetes or epilepsy.
- You have damaged skin, skin fungi or a lot of redness (dermatoses).
- You have hyperpigmentation.
- You take blood thinners.
- You have skin infections or a bacterial infection.
- You have varicose veins.
- You have nerve pain.
- You are badly sunburnt.

Even more beautiful with ÜBER peels
We combine the Dermapen 4 as standard with an ÜBER Pro or MD peel, depending on your skin goal.
The ÜBER Pro is an advanced peel packed with (fruit) acids, hyaluronic acid and peptides, which strongly intensifies the effect of microneedling on the upper skin layer. It delivers wonderful results for concerns such as hyperpigmentation, (fine) wrinkles, melasma and acne.
The ÜBER MD is a targeted, stronger peel with a TCA acid, which strongly intensifies the effect of microneedling down to the middle skin layer. It delivers wonderful results for concerns such as localised (acne) scars, deep wrinkles or pigmentation spots. Where the peel has been applied, the upper skin layer flakes away, revealing fresh, smooth new skin.
