Couperose removal with coagulation
Bothered by visible red blood vessels on your face? There's a good chance you have couperose. Quite harmless, but unsightly all the same. With coagulation therapy, couperose can be treated effectively. At CHRIS you're assured of an effective couperose treatment in Den Haag!
Couperose removal with coagulation
Whether you're young or a little older, man or woman: anyone can develop couperose. With couperose, the blood vessels are (permanently or temporarily) dilated, causing them to turn red and show through the skin. Couperose is especially common on the cheeks and nose.
Causes of couperose:
- Genetic factors (weak connective tissue)
- Thin skin due to medication use
- Drinking alcohol and/or smoking
- Hormonal factors
- Heavily spiced food
- Too much sun and sunbed use
- Cosmetics that are too harsh
- Weather influences
How coagulation therapy works for couperose
For coagulation against couperose, we work with an ultra-fine needle that delivers heat into the skin. With this thin needle, we can heat the red vessels very locally and precisely. The heat coagulates the proteins and the dilated vessel disappears. The effect of coagulation therapy for couperose is that the couperose is gone after three to six treatments. Coagulation treatment of couperose is safe, fast and highly effective. The treatment is also virtually painless.
Results of coagulation for couperose
After coagulation treatment, the vessels that have been treated stay gone. That said, there is a chance of new couperose developing if you are prone to it. At CHRIS we're happy to look at suitable skincare together with you, so that you're less likely to be troubled by couperose.
Before the coagulation
Before undergoing coagulation therapy, it's wise to keep the following in mind.
- Do not wax the area to be treated in the week before the treatment.
- Do not undergo laser therapy or IPL in the week before the treatment.
- Do not undergo intensive treatments in the week before the treatment. Think of microdermabrasion, strong peels and microneedling.
Aftercare for coagulation therapy for couperose
Right after the treatment, the skin is warm and sensitive. This subsides after a day. Within a few days, small crusts form in the treated area. Do not pick at these crusts and try to keep them dry; this ensures proper healing and the best result.
- Avoid extreme heat (sauna, hot showers).
- Do not use the sunbed and avoid the sun as much as possible. During the day, apply a sun product with at least SPF 30.
- Be moderate with alcohol consumption and smoking.
- Do not wear make-up until the crusts have fallen off the skin.

Even more beautiful with ÜBER peels
We combine the Dermapen 4 as standard with an ÜBER Pro or MD peel, depending on your skin goals.
The ÜBER Pro is an advanced peel full of (fruit) acids, hyaluronic acid and peptides, which strongly intensifies the effect of microneedling on the upper skin layer. It delivers wonderful results for concerns such as hyperpigmentation, (fine) wrinkles, melasma and acne.
The ÜBER MD is a targeted, stronger peel with a TCA acid, which strongly intensifies the effect of microneedling down to the middle skin layer. It delivers wonderful results for concerns such as localised (acne) scars, deep wrinkles or pigment spots. Where the peel has been applied, the upper skin layer flakes off and new, smooth skin becomes visible.
