Removing skin tags (fibromas) with coagulation
A skin tag or fibroma is a benign connective tissue growth that looks like a pale, swollen mole. Medically, you do not need to remove them, but you may find them cosmetically bothersome. At CHRIS we have the solution: coagulation therapy for skin tags.
Removing skin tags (fibromas) with coagulation
Fibromas or skin tags are very common, in both men and women. The spots are attached to the skin by a small ‘stalk’ and most closely resemble skin-coloured, swollen moles. Fibromas are usually found on the neck, but the armpits and groin are also common areas. Although skin tags are harmless and cannot do any damage, they can be bothersome. With coagulation treatment we remove skin tags quickly, effectively and virtually painlessly.
How do skin tags develop?
In many cases, skin tags or fibromas develop due to friction on the skin. Chafing or tight-fitting clothes can encourage fibromas, although this has never been scientifically proven.
How coagulation therapy works for skin tags
With coagulation for fibromas, we introduce heat into the skin using a very fine needle. We heat the tags locally. You barely feel this; you only feel a small pinprick. The heat causes the proteins in the skin to coagulate and scabs form on the sites of the fibromas. These scabs fall off the skin after an average of a week, after which smooth, new skin appears. Coagulation treatment of skin tags is safe, fast and highly effective.
Results of coagulation for skin tags
After coagulation treatment, the tags that have been treated stay away. That said, there is a chance of new fibromas if you are prone to them. Of course, you can then have these new skin tags treated again.
Before coagulation
Before you undergo coagulation therapy for skin tags, it is wise to take the following into account.
- Do not wax the area to be treated in the week before the treatment.
- Do not undergo laser therapy or IPL in the week before the treatment.
- Do not undergo intensive treatments in the week before the treatment. Think of microdermabrasion, powerful peels and microneedling.
Aftercare for coagulation therapy for skin tags
Immediately after the treatment, the skin is warm and vulnerable. This subsides within a day. Within a few days, scabs form in the treated area. Do not scratch the scabs and keep them as dry as possible. This ensures fast and proper recovery of the skin.
- Avoid extreme heat (sauna, hot showers).
- Do not use a tanning bed and avoid the sun as much as possible. During the day, apply a sun product with at least SPF 30.
- Be moderate with alcohol and smoking.
- Do not wear make-up until the scabs have fallen off the skin.

Even more beautiful with ÜBER peels
We combine the Dermapen 4 as standard with an ÜBER Pro or MD peel, depending on your skin wish.
The ÜBER Pro is an advanced peel full of (fruit) acids, hyaluronic acid and peptides, which strongly intensifies the effect of microneedling on the upper skin layer. It thus delivers great results when it comes to, for example, hyperpigmentation, (fine) wrinkles, melasma and acne.
The ÜBER MD is a targeted, stronger peel with a TCA acid, which strongly intensifies the effect of microneedling down to the middle skin layer. It thus delivers great results when it comes to, for example, localised (acne) scars, deep wrinkles or pigment spots. Where the peel has been applied, the upper skin layer flakes off and new, smooth skin becomes visible.
