How quickly will I see results, and why should I continue if I already see improvement?

You'll usually see smoother skin and fewer spots within a few weeks after the treatment. But this doesn't mean the problem is completely gone. The cause of the spots hasn't yet been addressed. That's why you need to continue with the home treatment to ensure the spots don't come back.

What happens if I stop the home treatment?

If you stop the home treatment, the spots may return. The treatment works by keeping the production of pigment in your skin under control. If you stop using the special cream and sun protection, the overproduction of pigment can start again.

Is cosmelan® suitable for all skin types and colours?

Yes. cosmelan® stands out from other pigmentation treatments thanks to the broad range of skin types and colours it can treat. The method removes pigmentation spots on skin types 1 to 6, including Asian through to Black skin.

 Can I combine other treatments with cosmelan®?

In the final months of the treatment we can add other treatments to improve and prolong the results, such as melan tran3x concentrate and melan tran3x gel-cream.

Can I just carry on with everything before, during and after the treatment?

The treatment is not invasive, so you can carry on with your normal life. Just be extra careful in the first few days after the salon treatment. Avoid activities such as swimming, prolonged exposure to heat and strenuous exercise that makes you sweat a lot.

Can my pigmentation spots come back after the treatment?

Yes, spots can come back, even after they've been treated. It's important to understand that reducing the spots is only part of the process. There's a chance the spots reappear for various reasons. To prevent this, it's important to use high-SPF sun protection and depigmenting products every day, all year round. We will of course advise you on this.

How do I prevent spots from reappearing after the treatment?

If you want to prevent the spots from coming back, it's important to adopt a few daily habits, such as using SPF every day and using depigmenting products, such as melan tran3x. Factors such as contraceptives, pregnancy, sunlight, hair removal, acne and medication that makes the skin sensitive to sunlight can all contribute to pigmentation reappearing.

Does the treatment have side effects?

Normally not, as long as you follow the instructions of the CHRIS professional. You may experience some redness and irritation shortly after the treatment, but this usually disappears within a few days. During the home treatment your skin may flake slightly, but this is normal and disappears with the use of the recommended products.

How does cosmelan® work against acne?

cosmelan® is not a treatment for active acne, but it can help reduce spots that cause pigmentation marks. It is effective for all skin types, but for treating acne we recommend other treatments. Ask CHRIS for advice.

That's why we keep monitoring and fine-tuning your skin together. With dehydrated skin you'll experience more flaking. That's why it's important to first improve your skin condition before starting Cosmelan. That also helps to achieve the best results.
