How long does the treatment take?
cosmelan works in two phases. This is necessary to achieve the desired result. First there is an intensive treatment in the salon, followed by an at-home treatment. In general, the entire treatment takes about six months. The exact duration depends on the degree of pigmentation. We can tell you this more precisely during the first intake.

Our cosmelan approach
Step 1: intake
Before we begin the cosmelan treatment, we schedule an intake. During this conversation we perform a skin scan to get a clear picture of the condition of your skin. We think it is important that you are well informed about the cosmelan process and that you have realistic expectations.
Step 2: preparation (one to two months before the treatment)
If your skin is too sensitive or too dehydrated, we cannot start the cosmelan treatment straight away. In that case we begin by improving the skin's condition. You will be prescribed at-home products from mesoestetic to help your skin get used to the acids and to optimise the skin's condition.
Step 3: preparatory peel
About a week before the cosmelan treatment you undergo a preparatory peel. This peel prepares your skin for the treatment and ensures that the active ingredients can be absorbed better. After these steps your skin is ready for cosmelan. We make sure you are well prepared, so that together we can work towards even and radiant skin!
Step 4: start of the cosmelan treatment at CHRIS
One to two weeks after the peel, cosmelan is applied at our salon. The cosmelan treatment consists of a mask that has to stay on for seven to eight hours. We apply it, and you remove it again at home. We recommend coming by car.
Step 5: start of the cosmelan at-home treatment
After a week of recovery, you start the cosmelan at-home treatment. Use the products twice a day for six months. We tailor the at-home products to your skin's needs. Throughout the entire process we have several contact moments. This can be via video call or at our salon.
Step 6: cleansing and check-up
About one and a half months after your cosmelan at-home treatment, you come in for an appointment where we gently cleanse your skin and treat it with collagen light from the Beauty Angel. This takes about 45 minutes. We repeat these sessions every four to six weeks, until the end of your cosmelan treatment.
